I haven't hosted Hister myself yet, but as far as I understand it, it's a search engine filled with articles you've visited in the past. If I'm right, this would be very similar to how I use Karakeep (see my Karakeep article). The UI looks nice and the author seems great too, as he is very active in answering questions on Reddit. Have a look there for more information what Hister is.
